Layton Myers - Texas WJHD 7th grader 

  • Started competing at age 4
  • 2006 Reserve Breakaway Roping Champion PYRA
  • Competes at various junior rodeo associations - PYRA, TJRA, CTYRA, NETJSRA
  • Competes at various calf roping championships- Barry Burk, Gordy Moore, Roy Cooper, Ricky Canton
  • 2009 Region 4 Goat Tying Champion
  • 2009 Qualified for Texas Junior High Finals in Tiedown, Goats, & Ribbons
  • 2009 Short round qualifier - TX Junior High Finals - Boys Goat Tying
  • 2009 Selected to Wrangler Division All-Star Team

Layton is a 7th grader at Van Junior High School, where he plays football, basketball, track, and tennis, as well competing in rodeo.  He plays drums in the band, and participates in theater.  He is on student council, member of the history club,  and a straight A student.  Layton was saved at the age of 5 and baptized in 2003 at a Camp of Champions in Sayre, Oklahoma.  He attends Trinity Fellowship in Sayre, Oklahoma  and Community Christian Fellowship in Lindale, Texas.

He competes in Region 4 of Texas Wrangler Junior High Division Rodeo in boys goat tying, breakaway roping, tiedown roping, ribbon roping, and team roping.  He was recently selected to model for McCoy's Building Supply's annual High School Rodeo photo shoot in San Marcos, Texas, and has been featured in several of their print ads.
