Chris WittExecutive DirectorBecause Chris’ dad was a football coach, he moved around some in his early years, but spent most of his life among the cactus and jack rabbits of Ft. Stockton, TX. In 1992, he graduated with a degree in Communication from Texas A&M University. (Yes, he is an Aggie. But he has heard all of the jokes so don’t bother.) Chris worked as a youth pastor before coming to Sky Ranch to serve full time. He first encountered this ministry as a sophomore in High School when he came to work here one summer on the maintenance work crew. He will tell you that while he was here, and in his two summers as a counselor, he met men and women who challenged him in his faith in ways no one else ever had. Those summers were what he calls “Lazarus moments”, times when God brought his walk back to life. In 3 summers as summer staff, and 13 years of full time service Chris has “been around the block” at Sky Ranch. He currently serves as Sr. Director of Ministries, overseeing the camping ministry teams of our three camps and our year round college ministries. But, what is most important to him is his bride of 19 years, Kim and his two boys Caleb (14) and Austin (12). |

John MorganTexas Site Camp DirectorJohn Morgan grew up around Dallas, TX, and he has been a part of Sky Ranch in many different ways since 1998. John is passionate about ministry and feels like God called him into the ministry when he was 16 years old. He was the song guy for Sky Ranch in 1998 and a counselor in 1999. He was a youth minister at White’s Chapel UMC in Southlake Texas for almost 2 years and then he worked as the Sky 3 & 4 director at Sky Ranch for 4 years. He is back now as the Texas Site Camp Director and is passionate about bringing fun into camp and making it a place that kids love and are drawn to. Sky Ranch feels like home to John and he is excited about the ways that he is challenged and grows in His relationship with Christ at Sky Ranch. John’s family, Amanda, Reeci, Boston and Charlie are his most important ministry and he loves being a husband and a dad. |

Summer Camp CounselorsSky Ranch Camps is blessed to have the opportunity to work with and minister to over 400 college aged men and woman from over 26 universities across the U.S who will pour into the lives of our campers. Each counselor takes part in an introductory interview, undergoes a national background check and provides us with two references. Before the summer begins, each counselor will take part in a 2-week staff training that is also used as a probationary period, which allows Sky Ranch Camps to evaluate each individual in person. During the summer each cabin will have a CPR certified counselor as well as a radio that is connected to our Nurse Station. Our cabins will hold to our 1 to 5 counselor to camper ratio. |
