Lessons Learned

Maybe a better way of saying this is  - "the results are God's".  The more we give ourselves to the day we find ourselves in, the more opportunity for God to be honored in that day.

I sometimes confuse results in the practice pen for success.  Conversely, I also find myself upset when it isn't going well.  Our job is to throw ourselves completely into what we are doing and trust our Father to use that to work it out in us in His way and His time.

This week I learned that I won't know until Christmastime whether or not I will receive an invitation to the WTEC - that inevitably causes me to wonder if all of this practice is for nothing, which is just another way of saying, "God, you owe me some results for all of this work I am doing".  When I think like this, I miss the blessing that God has for me - namely that I got to rope steers with my boys.  The real value of all of this preparation is that my Father said to do it, and obedience is a blessing in and of itself.
