Write the Vision

Week 3
September 4-11, 2009

Be Faithful  2 Samuel 22:26
*4 days a week do something to prepare for WTEC
+ Even in adversity   James 1:2-7
     * Once each week journal about the preparation
+ Write the vision   Habakkuk 2:2

Lessons Learned

God told Habakkuk to write it down so that others could read it and see it.  I have prepared for a lot of different challenges in the past but this is the first time that I have written about the preparation.  I find it both difficult and rewarding at the same time.  Knowing that I have to write down what I have done to train for the WTEC has held me accountable for two things:  being faithful about putting in the time and staying focused during the practice.

This week my brother was helping me with my steer tying form and as he took me through the steps, improvement came rather quickly.  A friend who was watching the session observed, "A good instructor and a focused student makes for pretty rapid improvement."

Focus is what this journal has given me.  The WTEC is a long time off - that makes it difficult to keep the practice fresh and productive.  But knowing that I am going to be writing down what I have learned each week has given me an extra motivation to keep learning.   And who knows... maybe others will read it and be encouraged as well!
